Sunday morning’s service marked the Centenary of The Successful Withdrawal of Allied Forces From Gallipoli and in particular, the part played by The City of Glasgow Batteries of the Royal Artillery. The service was well attended by both veterans and serving members of the military and lessons were read by our good friend Colonel Bobby Steele, Area Secretary (West), The Royal Regiment of Scotland and by Major Stephen Grant, Second Command, 105 Regiment, Royal Artillery.
Standards were received and following the closing hymn an Act of Remembrance was observed. The Cathedral is please to once again observe the remembrance of events which have been so important to our personal and national lives.
Thanks to Margaret Sainte Claire for the photographs.
