‘Building the future’ – A joint family day organised by Historic Scotland and Glasgow Science Festival as part of the Glasgow Science Festival 2011
Historic Scotland have joined forces with Glasgow Science festival to give families the chance to find out about the past, present and future of construction and engineering through a range of FREE activities from building challenges to tours, handling sessions to shows and a chance to meet a Medieval and modern stone mason!
Sunday 12 June, 11am-4pm (drop-in) at Glasgow Cathedral and St Mungo’s Museum
Activities free (admission charge to Cathedral)
Cathedral based activities (between 1pm and 4pm):
· Tours of the Cathedral
· Medieval Construction Science Show
· Medieval Object handling
Outside Cathedral (between 11am and 4pm):
· Meet a Medieval and modern stone mason!
St Mungo’s Museum based activities (between 11am and 4pm):
· Tower Building and K’nex Challenges
· Renewable energy hands-on activities
· Strathclyde University presentations
