22nd of December. A memorial service to remember those affected by the Queen Street tragedy on this day in Glasgow a year ago was held in the Cathedral at 12:00 noon.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, the Labour leader of Glasgow City Council Frank McAveety and Glasgow Lord Provost Sadie Docherty joined hundreds of people, including the relatives of victims, to remember the events of that terrible day.
Glasgow Cathedral minister the Rev Dr Laurence Whitely said people had come together to express “prayerful support” for all those affected by the tragedy.
The service, attended by representatives of the emergency services and businesses close to the scene of the accident, was organised by ecumenical Group Glasgow Churches Together and supported by the members Cathedral Kirk Session.
