This morning we are pleased to return to the Cathedral with a live service, With the relaxing of some restrictions on the part of the Scottish Government, we are now able to have members of our Congregation join us for worship here in the Cathedral, although our risk assessment has determined a limit below the maximum allowed under the regulations. We are especially pleased to welcome our chorister Jonathan Kennedy who will sing for this Easter Sunday service.
We must also mention that this morning’s service is the second anniversary of Rev Mark becoming the Minister of Glasgow Cathedral. I am sure you will agree that when he joined us, the past year’s events were the last thing that he, or any of us, might have expected. I equally am sure that you would join me in expressing my appreciation for all that he has done in the past year to support the Congregation of the Cathedral and the wider community.
Finally may I wish you a very Happy Easter from us on the Glasgow Cathedral Television and media team.
The hymns this morning include Jesus Christ is risen today and Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son,. Today’s anthem is Love bade me welcome (Mystical Songs) – R Vaughan Williams and the service begins with the introit The trumpet shall sound (Messiah) – G F Handel
