A Morning Service for Remembrance Sunday

Welcome to the Morning Service from Glasgow Cathedral for Remembrance Sunday the 8th of November. . We hope you enjoy worshiping with us this morning.

As there will is not a public Act of Remembrance in the Cathedral in line with Government regulations, this on-line service has been pre-recorded.  It will begin at the earlier time of 10:45 to mark the silence at 11:00. We should be on-air about 5 minutes before the service.

We are particularly pleased to be able to bring you a message from Councillor Philip Braat, The Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow. In this morning’s service music includes the anthem For the Fallen by D. Guest  and The Beatitudes from Our Present Charter by Nico Muhly directed by Edwin Hillier with  Andrew Forbes at the organ.

The hymns include Christ is made the sure foundation and I to the hills will lift mine eyes which include members of the Choir and Congregation were recorded during services of Choral Evensong in 2018. The service will also include recoded scenes from the Remembrance Service held in George Square in 2011. If you would like an Order of Service you can download a pdf here.
